We all know lots of us love a nice cup of tea! Today, I thought we could use a teabag as a way to see how good your hand - eye coordination is! Next time someone in your home wants a cuppa: Go and get a mug/cup/glass and a teabag. Place the empty mug on a flat, stable surface Take the teabag in your hand. Walk back about 5 metres (5-6 large steps backwards) Try and throw the teabag into the mug/cup/glass? How many attempts does it take you before you achieve success? Ways to make it more difficult: Take a look at the three video clips of three of my friends doing the challenge themselves. One wasn't looking when he threw it in, the second was much further away, and the third demonstrates some pretty nifty football skills! What can you do? EP points: 2 = for turning in your assignment messaging me with how many attempts it took 3 = for messaging me with a way that you made the challenge more difficult 5 = attaching and sending me a video clip of your successes! Today's challenge will involve you trying to encourage some other people in your household to give this game a try with you. If you have access to a printer, you may wish to print off the attached sheet as it will be easier to play this game.
Follow the instructions on the sheet which you can find by clicking this link: https://www.pedssa.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ludo-activity-game.pdf If you do not have a dice, you could use a random number generator on a phone or ipad. Have fun. Let me know if you try this and how you found it. Good luck! See the attached sheet
For each letter of your first name, perform the correct amount of exercises. If you don't have stairs in your home, you can substitute the 'stairs' task with step ups on a box, step, stool or chair. Try and do it with your surname as well if you want a tougher challenge. Also try and get your family members to do it with you. Who can do it the fastest? A final challenge to end the week. If you have a tennis ball (or something similar) try the challenge in the video clip below. If you find it easy, can you think of a way to make it more difficult? Maybe you can challenge another member of your household to a competition? This is a great way to really work on your hand -eye coordination so give it a go! A PE twist on the traditional game! Have a go by yourself or encourage family members to join in too.
1/4/2020 Wednesday's Daily Challenge...A bit of fun for you today. Watch the video clip of my friends doing this short dance craze. Can you copy it? You could do it by yourself but it would be more fun to get someone else in your household to do it with you! Good Luck and have fun! 31/3/2020 Tuesday's Challenge: Play the DeckTake a look at the attached picture below.
You can try this on your own or with other members of your family. All you need is a pack of cards. If you are feeling very energetic, make an Ace card 11 instead of 1! No need to send in videos of this. Just give it a go and post your comments before 5pm today. Well done everyone for getting through the first week of this new system of schooling! It has been very strange for all of us: teachers, parents and pupils. Now you are all hopefully in some kind of routine, I thought I would keep you busy with a week of daily challenges.
Every morning this week I will post a different physical challenge of some description for you (and maybe your family) to try! If you are able to access Twitter, you may wish to post a photograph or short video clip of you completing the challenge. You may also be able to post to the Google classroom too. There will be E Praise points on offer all week for those that give the challenge a go! Good luck and keep active. Mrs Williams While everyone is at home I have an agricultural challenge for you all:
Can you grow the tallest sunflower in the school? Perhaps the world? Currently the world record is 9.17m! https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/tallest-sunflower/ By July I hope to be able to judge your entries; you can email pictures into school. There will be prizes! Individual, tutor group and house! You'll need to get hold of some seeds, which I suggest you pick up next time you or a friend goes to the shops. I additionally suggest that you keep a journal of your progress, noting changes and developments. Not only will this impress your teachers and help you learn, you might also win the category for "best journalling". I will also be hoping to include other categories such as "most beautiful" and "largest flower". Please send me any thoughts you have and ideally pictures of your progress! Good luck Mr Greetham Hints and tips…
