Religious Education
Have you ever pondered the point of life?
Have you ever wondered why some men wear a turban?
Have you ever considered how the hatred of one human can lead to the near extinction of an entire race?
Religious Education, by its very nature, is thought provoking, powerful and stimulating and therefore, has the capacity to fascinate and challenge.
RE at Cranborne has meaning and relevance to the children by encouraging them to learn from religion as well as about religion. It also supports children’s religious understanding of the living world.
|
It helps them to think for themselves, to question, to listen to and understand other people’s viewpoints while evaluating their own ideas and values. Promoting respect for other cultures and beliefs, results in the breaking down of barriers in society. In doing so, RE lessons develop the skills of reflection, empathy, communication and sensitivity which help our children to become well-rounded citizens.
