Sandi Malpas

I was born in Dublin, Ireland and trained at Trinity College, Dublin. I have lived in Cranborne since 1977 and have 3 children: Crispin, a doctor, married Claudia (also a doctor!) who have 2 sons; Hannah, a lawyer who lives in Hampshire with her husband and 3 children, and Clemmie who makes humanitarian documentaries lately mostly concerning refugees all over the world.
I retired as senior partner in The Cranborne Practice (>9500 patients) in April 2013. During that time I also served as Locality Executive Chair of the South and East Dorset Primary Care Trust until it was disbanded in the NHS re-organisation of 2006. I am also a trustee of The Bournemouth Chest Diseases Charitable Trust and The Boveridge Charity.

I am a member of Cranborne PCC and leads the Open the Book ‘team’. Also, I am a part of the Salisbury/Sudan Medical Link which supplies medicines to rural clinics in South Sudan and sponsors training of medical staff to work in those clinics. I have previously been a governor of 2 independent prep schools, Forres Sandle Manor in Fordingbridge and Walhampton in Lymington and for some years worked as a counsellor at Bryanston School in Blandford.
