Art
Art and Design is all around us. From the furniture we sit on, to the wallpaper on our walls, to the television programmes and films we watch.
At Cranborne Middle School, not only are we teaching the potential artists of the future, but we are helping all of our children to develop an appreciation of the visual world around them through a balance of skills based teaching, creative encouragement and experimentation. All children get the chance to work in their mixed ability groups in our purpose built art room.
During their time at school, children are given the opportunity to develop their skills in using a variety of 2D and 3D materials: oil pastels to acrylic paints; papier mâché to clay; and printing to photography.

Modern artists are appreciated alongside the more traditional who still influence our lives today. Children are actively encouraged to further their love of the arts by undertaking the Arts Award Explore, Bronze and Silver awards.
