Headteacher's Welcome

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important responsibilities you undertake and it is my very great honour to lead such a successful, thriving school. It is a very friendly school where children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate young adults and to use their abilities to the full. We provide a calm and happy atmosphere and set high standards of respect, courtesy, hard work and achievement for all children and adults.
At CMS, we always put children first; this aim is at the heart of our vision. Every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to be happy, feel valued and experience success. If, in future years, our children look back and say that CMS made a positive difference to their lives then we, as professionals and parents, will have succeeded.
We have an enthusiastic, highly motivated staff committed to a caring, child-centred ethos. We offer skilled teaching and high academic standards as well as concentrating on the education of the whole child. We encourage Personal Learning and Thinking Skills alongside a Creative Curriculum, which will prepare our pupils for life in the 21st century.  We support and care for each child’s needs within a family context of firm yet sensitive guidance.

Parents play an important role in the education of their children and we aspire to developing happy and rewarding relationship with them and their families. Strong, committed partnerships between our school and our parents play a crucial role in our children’s development into successful young adults. By working together, we aim to give our pupils the best start to adolescence. Our Parent Teacher Association arrange a series of social events while fundraising for the benefit of all our children. We also have a Parent Group which meets regularly regarding the practices and policies of the school.
This website provides information about our school, its aims, curriculum and activities. I hope it will give you a ‘feel’ for the life and work of the school and for the caring and friendly atmosphere I know you will find here. I believe passionately that if you come and visit our school you will experience first-hand the happy, inclusive ethos and excitement for learning that exists within our school community.
I look forward to meeting you and your child in the near future.
Mr Richard Stevens
