School Council
Everybody has the opportunity to be a school council member and each tutor group elects one representative for their class. This pupil attends meetings on behalf of their tutor group. Meetings are organised and run by the pupils led by the chair, vice-chair, secretary and vice-secretary.
The school council is a vital way that pupils can get their views and ideas heard and be instrumental in bringing about change in consultation with the school leadership team. The council meets every three weeks to discuss issues that pupils have raised and to decide what actions they could take to solve them. In between meetings, school council members undertake duties in preparation for the next meeting.
Following their election last term, School Council are now hard at work on a number of projects, such as improving the outdoor seating area adjacent to the school hall, where many children enjoy eating their lunch, particularly in the spring and summer.
The Council have recently restructured themselves and have an executive, which enables each year group to be represented in it. The Chair is Erin H, the Vice Chair is Mia C and the Secretaries are Ben R and Emily B.
