School Council
Everybody has the opportunity to be a school council member and each tutor group elects two representatives for their class. All elected members attend meetings on behalf of their tutor group and bring forward ideas and news from around the school. Meetings are organised a few times per term, and are largely run by the student council themselves.

The student council is a vital way that pupils can get their views and ideas heard and be instrumental in bringing about change in consultation with the school leadership team. The council meets every three weeks to discuss issues that pupils have raised and to decide what actions they could take to solve them, and this year they have decided that our school needs to be more environmentally aware. In between meetings, school council members undertake duties in preparation for the next meeting including designing new outdoor areas and even cleaning out the pond!
Following their election last term, the Student Council are now hard at work on a number of projects, such as creating a community garden in the school fields, planting seeds for a new home-produce garden, planting trees and maintaining the school pond. They hope to be able to complement our school 'carbon zero' approach this spring and summer.
The Student Council have a busy and productive year ahead!
