Supporting Charity @ CMS
Every year we ask the children to choose a charity that they would like to support during the academic year. It is then up to our student council to think of ways that we can raise money to try and have a positive impact on the charity of choice.
This year we decided to support the fantastic work at Julia's House.
"We offer regular respite sessions at our hospice in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, and in families’ own homes in Dorset and Wiltshire. We also run events for siblings and mums and dads – we support the whole family.
Our respite care means so much to parents who are looking after a very sick child 24 hours a day. It gives them time out with their partners, their other children or simply a chance to catch up with some day-to-day tasks, safe in the knowledge their child is being looked after by people they know and trust.
Our nurses and carers provide life-changing support for parents and their children both in the hospice and in their own homes. We are there year-round and in a crisis, offering emergency respite and overnight care. We are also there when the worst happens, offering emotional and practical support at the end of a child’s life."
