Music
"Ah music. A magic beyond all we do here."
J. K. Rowling. Music is everywhere at Cranborne Middle School. Pupils have many opportunities to develop their curiosity, interest and enjoyment of the subject. Music is taught to mixed ability groups on a weekly basis. We enable pupils to embrace a body of musical knowledge, skills and vocabulary.
The very nature of the subject allows this to be done in various fun and creative ways, combining formal, technical teaching with practical work. Pupils are encouraged to express their individuality and creativity and tasks can be easily adapted to ensure all are engaged and challenged.
Many pupils learn instruments with our experienced team of peripatetic staff. We also offer a wide range of clubs, both inclusive and specifically for the Gifted and Talented. There are numerous opportunities to perform, whether for a concert, integrated unit, assembly or trip to entertain the community.
