Our first tutor day of the year saw a multitude of different sports being enjoyed by all ages in the Inter House competitions. Every single pupil had the opportunity to represent their house (Castle, Chase, Church or Crane) in either football, netball, table tennis or boccia. The weather was unfortunately not on our side and the netballers had to retreat indoors to the Gym but this didn't stop some great performances. The boys braved the wet and muddy conditions and continued with their football out on the field. Again, some dogged and determined performances saw some great games of football take place. Year 5,6 and 7 pupils also had the chance to show off their table tennis skills with some competitive 1 v 1 performances. Pupils in all years also tried boccia - an inclusive sport similar to bowls - that allowed them to demonstrate their tactical prowess! This game was great for anyone with an injury as it can be played sitting down, standing up or kneeling if necessary and involves no running around! If you want to see how each year group got on and who was the winning house, please click on the link to the powerpoint below. I would like to thank all the Year 8 sports leaders who did a superb job of refereeing, umpiring, managing, scoring and organising throughout the morning. For their first true experience in their new roles as leaders, they were excellent role models to our younger pupils. Well done and thank you. Mrs Williams
