After a two-hour drive across to the outskirts of London, the Year 8 boys football team faced horrendous weather conditions to play Ibstock Place School in their quarter final match of the Small Schools National Cup. In sometimes blizzard conditions, the team played well to go ahead 2-0 at half time thanks to two goals from Lenny. The opposition came back in the second half and scored, making it 2-1. With the threat of having to abandon the game due to the snow looming over them, the boys battled on and kept the opposition at bay. What felt like an eternity of stoppage time finally ended and Cranborne were once again victorious! Well done boys on a fantastic victory and superb achievement!
We now progress to the semi-final stages of the competition where we face Greneway School from Hertfordshire. Everyone will be pleased to know that this match is a home fixture so watch this space for an update on when that will be played. If you are able to come along and support the team and the school in making it this far and will them on to the final, it would be hugely appreciated.
My thanks go to the parents and relatives who took the time to accompany the team and support them in their victory, It is wonderful to have such support and it is appreciated so much.
