Invictus games guest for Key Stage 3 pupils

Today we were lucky enough to be visited by Lindsay Chapman, an Invictus Games athlete, who won gold in the wheelchair 100m event in Toronto. Being so local (Three Legged Cross), it was lovely to have Lindsay in to speak to our pupils about her story, her journey and the highs and lows she has faced along the way. Pupils were treated to a slide show of Lindsay's achievements which included meeting Prince Harry!
We also got to see a video clip of her medal winning race, where Lindsay won by a huge margin to take Gold.
Lindsay's message was clear: we all have ups and downs in our lives, but it is how you deal with those and pick yourself up after a fall that makes you stronger. 
Pupils were given the opportunity to ask questions and two lucky pupils even had the chance to try out Lindsay's racing chair. Well done Emilie and Harrison for your bravery!
