Jeans for Genes Day

Today all staff and pupils were encouraged to come into school wearing jeans and to donate a pound each to the charity Genetic Disorders UK.
Wearing jeans helps to raise awareness of the Jeans for Genes fundraising organisation specifically raising support for Genetic Disorders UK, which is a registered charity with a vision to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by genetic disorders.

It is estimated that 1 in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder. This means that in the UK, 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed each year and more than half a million children and adults are living with a genetic disorder.

Money raised today will be used to launch much needed support services and increase the number of
grants we provide to disorder-specific charities.

We would like to thank all pupils, families and staff for their contributions today!

Due to your fantastic effort, we managed to raise a grand total of £334.41.
