Despite a rather unusual disruption to the school day, Monday saw our Year 8 Sports Leaders participate in their first Sky Living for Sport project workshop. We were lucky enough to receive a visit from not only Jake Sheaf, a GB beach volleyball player but also Thinus Delport, an ex Gloucester and Springboks rugby player!
Jake kick-started the day with a session that highlighted his own personal journey from starting out as a young sports player to his current accolade of being one half of GB's top ranked beach volleyball pairing.
Whilst the rest of the school headed home due to a burst water pipe, the Sports Leaders stayed to complete their workshop with Jake discussing with them the Six Keys To Success: the six key elements that athletes felt if you possessed, you would achieve success. Well done to Josh for winning the signed volleyball from Jake for being excellent at contributing throughout the day.
