Despite a rather unusual disruption to the school day, Monday saw our Year 8 Sports Leaders participate in their first Sky Living for Sport project workshop. We were lucky enough to receive a visit from not only Jake Sheaf, a GB beach volleyball player but also Thinus Delport, an ex Gloucester and Springboks rugby player! Jake kick-started the day with a session that highlighted his own personal journey from starting out as a young sports player to his current accolade of being one half of GB's top ranked beach volleyball pairing.
Whilst the rest of the school headed home due to a burst water pipe, the Sports Leaders stayed to complete their workshop with Jake discussing with them the Six Keys To Success: the six key elements that athletes felt if you possessed, you would achieve success. Click here to see the six keys to success. We all had a wonderful day with lots of interaction and great questions asked. Well done to Josh for winning the signed volleyball from Jake for being excellent at contributing throughout the day.
