Super Start to Cross Country Season.

The start of the PEDSSA Cross Country season got off to a cracking start today with all three boys' teams putting in excellent performances. The weather was glorious:not a muddy puddle in sight! The Year 6 team lined up on the start line first and charged off at full speed. Only minutes later, Nathan flew round the finishing corner in 1st position and won convincingly, followed closely by Archie in 8th place. Albie came across the line in 17th place with Harry hot on his heels in 19th place. The entire team finished inside the top 20 - something we have never achieved before!
Next to run were our Year 7 boys who put in another great performance. Well done to Tom R who finished in a strong 9th position, with William H and Harry P coming in 16th and 20th respectfully.
The final race of the day saw our Year 8 boys up against stiff competition as they are now classed as 'Juniors' which means they run against Year 9's! With determination, they set off and all got a great start. First past the post was George C with an amazing 9th place. Joe L narrowly pipped his own team mate, Noah A to finish 20th and 21st with Zach M coming a commendable 24th.
It was truly a great spectacle with over 300 children racing around the Canford School grounds.
Let's hope the weather is as kind for the next race later on this year!
