Year 8 Boys through to Quarter Finals of the National Cup after a tense thriller!

Well, if I bit my nails before this game, I certainly don't have any left now! What a match! We had most of the possession in the early stages of the first half but went 1-0 down after a disappointing goal. After a good strong pep talk at half time, we came out and fought hard. We levelled the score after a penalty awarded for hand ball. Then, not long afterwards, we went 2-1 up with a bit of a goalmouth scramble!
The opposition leveled the scores to 2-2 after a free kick was parried away but followed in. Extra time beckoned!
With tired legs and, having put everything they had into the game, the score remained 2-2.
This meant only one thing... dreaded penalties!!
It came down to the wire: each keeper had made a save. 3-3 it was as the last player stepped up to take their penalty... A St Ives player. If he scored, it went to sudden death. If he missed, we were through...
...
...
Lewis made a great save and we go through to the next round!!
Now into the last 8 of the competition.
We will play either a school from Richmond or West Gloucestershire AWAY!
A huge well done to the entire squad.
