After some tremendous efforts at today's PEDSSA Sportshall Athletics competition at Ferndown Upper School, our group of Year 6 athletes came the closest Cranborne Middle School have ever come to taking the title away from Allenbourn. With some displays of brilliant sprinting, throwing and jumping, the year 6 team finished runners up just TWO POINTS behind the winners, Allenbourn! The entire range of emotions was experienced: excitement, nervousness, elation, disappointment and frustration. I could not have asked for any more from each and every one of the athletes. They gave their all, were impeccably behaved and above all, they helped, encouraged and supported their team mates through all of their events with maturity and camaraderie. Whilst many may be feeling a little disheartened tonight, they can look back on their efforts with pride and know for the first time ever... we had our opponents worried!! Well done Cranborne. Sometimes sport is about more than just winning and you proved that today. Boys team: Nathan, Archie, Albie, Myles, Otis, Alex and Ben Girls team: Minna, Jessica, Poppy, Lilly, Amelie, Anna, Kelsey Mrs Williams This month year 6 have had a series of dance lessons themed: Spies and Secret Agents. Within this they developed, planned, choreographed and finally performed a variety of motifs that they finally joined into a dance. Along with individual and group performances we finished the unit of work today by all dancing together at the same time, as you will see on this video. 9/1/2020 'Inter' spellingshttps://www.spellzone.com/word_lists/games-913208.htm
Mrs Eadie's spelling group, please use the 'Against the Clock' game to help you with your spellings this week. Team: Ben(GK) Myles, Jack(DEF) Archie(C) Otis, Ryan, Albie(MID) Jay, Connor(ST), Harry(SUB)
Cranborne got this away game started well, but were quickly feeling hard done by after they thought a push on Archie in the penalty area was not awarded with a penalty. Picking their heads up, though, Archie slotted the ball to Otis on the wing, who played a nice ball into the box, which was deflected by the Emmanuel centre back into Archie’s path… Our play maker shot with venom … it hit the post! Fortunately, it fell perfectly for the winger, Albie: 1-0 Cranborne! Following this, Otis played a nice ball to Jay, on the wing who passed accurately to Connor, who tapped it home. GOAL! 2-0 Cranborne! Although, unfortunately, just before half time, Emmanuel scored to make it 2-1, after a lapse in our concentration. Into the second half we played some nice football; Albie sent a nice ball to Jay, who slotted it into the bottom corner. From great pressing, we then forced Emmanuel to score in their own net: 4-1 Cranborne. We then began to dominate; Albie played a fantastic ball to Jay who sent a brilliant header through to Harry who finished it nicely. Before the final whistle, however, we gave away an easy goal due to a mistake from one of the defenders. We were delighted though with our brilliant display; winning 5 -2 away from home. ALDHEMS, POOLE
In the first half, we went down 3 – 2 with Jay scoring the first goal and Archie scoring a header from Nathans cross from a corner. In the second half, we played much better. At the start of the second half, Nathan goes down outside the box and Archie takes the free kick and the goalkeeper was nowhere near it ….. so 3-3! As soon as the whistle was blown to restart the game, the Bishop striker was bought down in the box. Penalty! Bob was inches away from the ball but couldn’t reach it; 4-3 to Bishops After that goal, it was one sided; we dominated the game and it finished 8-4 to Cranborne. The goal scorers were Archie x3 Connor x2 Jay x2 Nathan x1 The team was: Bob GK, James, Myles, Albie, Harry, Jay, Archie(C) , Nathan, Cyron, Jack, Connor. By James, Archie W and Bob in 6JG. Year 6 spent a great day at the ATC this week learning to fight like a Viking or Saxon! They also learnt other skills from the era such as wood cutting, fire ignition, chalk brick manufacture and textile making. A fantastic time was had by all! Thank you to all the fantastic help from our parental volunteers who made the day possible!
