Why is Sanjay’s home insurance so high?

The cards we looked at are below.
You need to sort them into:
  • Causes
  • Solutions
  • Background
Can you say if they are linked to:
  • Climate
  • Relief (this means the height of the land)
  • Human
When you have done this explain why Sanjay’s home insurance is so high and suggest what he should do next.

This might help:

If you are doing the GD task consider:
  • Why the flood happened – try and explain how some causes link to others and make them worse. Try and explain why this sort of flood would not have happened in England.
  • Suggest some solutions to reduce the flood risk in the future – think about the level of development of this country (is it a developing or developed country? What can it afford?)

Ghostly Tales!

The end of term saw the finale of Y8's Ghostly Tales project - a combination of dance, film and story writing. After spending half a term in English looking at Gothic literature including 'Jekyll and Hyde', 'The Woman in Black' , 'Dracula', Y8 were challenged to write their own Gothic re-telling of  the awakening of Mary Shelly's famous creation -  Frankenstein. They then used these stories in their music lessons where they learnt how to  use ipads to compose digital atmospheric music to accompany their stories and create audio books.  In PE, they put together dance routines based on a Gothic style and , finally, as a homework project they were challenged to create their own film trailers to accompany an imaginary film version of their stories. We were then treated to a wonderful afternoon of creativity and Y7 were able to see what they will have to live up to next year!
