On Wednesday the 6th of December, the Helping Hands Club hosted a Christmas party for some of the elderly residents of Cranborne. We played games such as pass the parcel and throw the beanbag on to the chocolates. This was a big hit among our guests ( it may have had something to do with the fact that the winner would get to keep the chocolates !) Our new friends weren't the only ones who enjoyed themselves, the helping handers were all buzzing with excitement after talking and finding out about our visitor's Christmases. The party was a huge success and a lot of fun was had by all. We took games, shared stories and even enjoyed some Christmas treats together as a community. The main part of Helping Hands is helping the elderly around a time where they may feel lonely or forgotten (especially at Christmas) and we want to make sure they know that they are thought of in this festive period and that they should not feel alone. This Wednesday (December 6th) we are hosting a Christmas tea at CMS to spread some festive cheer and share a dinner together to feel one as a community. By: Eloise L |
