QE Dancers return enthused.

Five Year 8 pupils were invited to attend a QE Dance workshop today with the hope of becoming a member of their Junior Dance Company in September and performing at the QE Open Evening. All five girls were keen, enthusiastic and willing to get involved straight away. They performed alongside other middle school pupils who will also form part of the dance company. It was hard work but they all had a wonderful time and had the opportunity to meet like minded pupils with the same passion for dance as themselves.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

Picture
Year 8 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed studying the much acclaimed book ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. In Set 3 we produced several pieces of writing, using a variety of genre, and then put them together, with the aid of a computer program, to create thoughtful and colourful scrapbooks. This display shows the results of the pupils’ great efforts; below are three examples of the delightful scrapbooks. Work to be proud of – well done Year 8!

Year 8 QE Transfer Day

As I am sure you are aware, it is the QE Transfer Day this Friday and our pupils will be spending the day at QE participating in a variety of lessons and school life. Pupils should attend the day in their Cranborne school uniform, ensuring they are smart and presentable. Pupils should not come to CMS that morning. Instead, they should go directly to QE using either the QE buses or by their own means.
If you are unsure as to where the QE buses stop and which bus your child should get, please click on the link below that will take you to Dorset For You. You will see a list of bus routes that go to QE from various surrounding areas. It will also show where the bus stops. This will be the same for the return journey.
https://www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/article/423416/Queen-Elizabeth-School-Wimborne-bus-routes
The Coach drivers have been fully briefed and will allow any CMS pupils onto the bus without the need for a bus pass for that day. Pupils should bring with them a school bag with the usual necessary equipment such as pencil case, drinks bottle etc. They can either take their own packed lunch or take money for the QE canteen. (approx £3.00).
It may also be worth getting your child to write down the number of the bus they will be catching so that they know which bus to get back on at the end of the day!
I haven't been informed that pupils will be taking part in PE lessons so should not need to bring their PE kit. If this changes, I will inform you.

I wish all the Year 8's a great and enjoyable day and am sure i will hear all about it the following week.

A reminder that tonight it is the QE Meet the Tutor Evening, where information regarding bus travel on transfer day will be displayed and a member of staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
