Friday saw the selection of 21 Year 7 Playground Leaders who will work with our Key Stage 2 pupils at lunchtimes to provide a range of games and activities throughout the year. Pupils were invited to write an application stating why they thought they would make a good leader. I was impressed by the standard of application received.
A huge well done to: Amber, Olivia, Alex, Emillie, Hattie, Lauren, Maddy, Tamzin, Taelor, Katherine, Holly, Emily, Hollie, Lewis, Melissa, Jordan, Josh, Poppy, Henry, George and Lenny. We will be meeting for the first time this week to discuss ideas and plan an assembly. Watch this space for updates and photos. Mrs Williams
5/9/2016 Welcome to Year 7Welcome to Year 7 and the start of your child’s Key Stage 3 journey here at Cranborne. I would like to officially introduce myself as the Head of Year 7. With the step up to a new and challenging key stage, there will inevitably be a period of transition for the pupils. Homework will increase, expectations regarding levels of maturity and organisation become greater and opportunities to be a more independent learner will become more widespread across the curriculum. Your child will be bringing home a booklet today that covers many of the questions asked by parents about any issues or concerns they have about Year 7. Please remember to check the bottom of the school bag to see if it has made it safely home! This section of the website is designed to keep you informed of all the fantastic things Year 7 will be engaged in during the course of the year! From celebrations, to deadlines; information to requests, I will endeavor to update this section as frequently as possible so that you, as parents and carers, remain fully informed. I have so far been tremendously impressed by the positive attitude and hardworking ethos I have witnessed as I have peered into classrooms or spoken to other staff members. A superb start that I am sure can be maintained throughout the year! I have every confidence that Year 7 will be a fantastic year for all my year group. Mrs Williams
