13/9/2017 Year 7 Extended English HomeworkMrs Williams' and Mrs Eadie's English sets have just been set the challenge of researching Shakespeare as part of an extended homework task. This links closely to the unit we will be studying in English this half term and pupils have the freedom to choose from a range of different topic areas to research. Being Key Stage 3 pupils, they will also have the choice of how they can present their findings. See below for more details of the challenge. We are very much looking forward to seeing what the pupils produce by October! Mrs Williams 6/9/2017 Welcome Back Year 7!Welcome to Year 7 and the start of your child’s Key Stage 3 journey here at Cranborne. I would like to officially introduce myself as the Key Stage 3 Phase Leader.
With the step up to a new and challenging key stage, there will inevitably be a period of transition for the pupils. Homework will increase, expectations regarding levels of maturity and organisation become greater and opportunities to be a more independent learner will become more widespread across the curriculum. You will be receiving a parentmail over the next few days that covers many of the questions asked by parents about any issues or concerns they have about Year 7. This section of the website is designed to keep you informed of all the fantastic things Year 7 will be engaged in during the course of the year! From celebrations, to deadlines; information to requests, I will endeavor to update this section as frequently as possible so that you, as parents and carers, remain fully informed. I have so far been tremendously impressed by the positive attitude and hardworking ethos I have witnessed as I have peered into classrooms or spoken to other staff members. A superb start that I am sure can be maintained throughout the year! I have every confidence that Year 7 will be a fantastic year for all my year group. Mrs Williams |
