This morning, 12 Year 8 pupils attended a dance workshop at QE School after being invited to join their Junior Dance Group. They, along with several other middle school pupils, worked hard to produce an extremely high standard dance sequence that will hopefully be showcased at QE's Open Evening at the end of September! All the girls were keen and enthusiastic to continue with their dance experience once they start QE. Well done everyone.
This is to help year 8 with a history assignment.
Introduction What is your answer to the question? Give an idea in just two to four lines what you are going to write about. Refer to the word ‘terrible’ explain your point in view of its definition Chronology Why do we view the cruelty, basic living conditions and strange practices of the Tudors as terrible? Were the Middle Ages or the Stuart period more or less terrible? Did the Tudors do a good job? Causation This is a major paragraph – it might be three …. What causes you to come to your answer? Make your point, evidence it and explain it. Interpretation Your interpretation is one idea. What are the other viewpoints? Why do people have them? Continuity and change What changed over the Tudor period? What did not? Did this make them terrible or not? Make sure it supports your argument. Significance Lots of things happened between 1485 and 1603. What is the most significant event and why does it support your argument about the Tudors being terrible? Enquiry Pick at least one source about the Tudors and copy it. Be sure to include the author and date (provenance). Explain why it backs up your argument about the Tudors being terrible. Don’t forget to say why it is a good source depending upon its provenance. Conclusion What is your answer to the question? Summarise your work, briefly explaining why you are correct. Remember, 'terrible' means -extremely unpleasant or disagreeable and / or really bad at something. 12/6/2018 QE comes to Cranborne. This morning, all our Year 8 pupils who will be heading off to QE in September were treated to an assembly led by ex-pupils and the Head boy and Girl. Our Year 8's also watched performances by the QE musicians and the QE Junior Dance group before chatting to QE pupils about what lies ahead. Hopefully, nerves have been reduced and they are all looking forward to starting in September!
16/5/2018 Helping Hands Dance again!A Few weeks ago the Helping Handers were invited to go and dance for a Care Home for the elderly in Ferndown. Our club members were all very nervous but excited to dance once again. We met some new friends and some even joined in with our dances; it was an experience we will remember. Everybody had a great time, all of us Helping Handers could see the elderly clapping along to the music. We thank the workers of the Care Home for inviting us to dance….and for the tea and cakes too!
