A Grand Day Out!

This morning, after breakfast, we set of for The Dune du Pilat - the largest dune in Europe at 117 metres and 3 kilometres wide. While most of the group took the recommended route up the dune, Mrs Williams accepted a challenge from Tom B with a race to the summit... straight up. Needless to say it was a close 2nd for Mrs Williams. Despite gaining on Tom towards the top, she never quite made it. But she was magnanimous in defeat!

When the rest of the group rejoined them, we took in the views from the top of dune which were stunning in all directions. We then proceeded with the tent group photoshoots!
The highlight of the day must be, "What comes up, must come down!" as the group took turns charging down the side of the dune. Then climbing back up again to have another go! Most descended with poise and dignity, others less so...

After shaking out several mounds of sand, we headed to Biscarosse for another session of shopping and slushies! Once they were all shopped out, we headed back to camp looking forward to our French cuisine!

Well who would've thought they all loved the camera so much - what a good looking bunch!
I hope Tom was magnanimous in his moment of victory - he was looking forward to the challenge 👏🏻
