Yesterday saw the first round of the Year 7 Poole and East Dorset netball league get underway at Parkstone Grammar School. The excited squad of 9 arrived just in time for a quick warm up before taking their places on court to face their first opponents: St Michael's.
After a tense start, Cranborne pulled ahead by some great shooting from Aimee and Erin. St. Michael's came back strong and by half time, they were 7-5 ahead. After a team talk and some tactical changes, the team headed back into court fired up and ready to win. Some lovely centre court link up play by Evie, Eliza and Lauren helped get the ball down to our shooters several times and they rarely missed, taking the score to 10-9 and a nail biting finish to the game. Some super defending by Lizzie allowed more attacking play and the score finished 12-9 to Cranborne. Well done to all 9 players. Next week we face local rivals- Allenbourn and also the unknown quantity- Purbeck. Let's see if we can keep that winning streak going! Mrs Williams Leave a Reply. |
